Cafe Manager

Role Description

The Cafe Manager role at Cafe Loma is a full-time, on-site position based in the Antwerp Metropolitan Area. The Cafe Manager oversees daily café operations, including opening and closing procedures, coordinating staff schedules, and ensuring consistent service standards. This role is responsible for supervising and coaching team members, managing inventory and ordering supplies, monitoring food and beverage quality, and maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment. The Cafe Manager also handles customer inquiries and feedback, supports sales initiatives and promotions, manages cash handling and basic reporting, and collaborates with ownership on operational improvements and community engagement.

Qualifications

• Strong customer service and communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally and courteously with guests and team members.
• Knowledge of food & beverage operations and food service practices, including hygiene, safety, and presentation standards.
• Sales awareness and basic commercial skills to help drive revenue, upsell products, and support promotional activities.
• Experience in team leadership or supervisory roles within hospitality or retail environments.
• Organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to oversee multiple tasks during busy service periods.
• Comfort with basic point-of-sale (POS) systems and cash handling procedures.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings, as required by café operations.
• Prior experience in a café, restaurant, or similar food service setting is preferred.
