The System Engineer who's deep in a firewall configuration. The customer who needs everything yesterday. The project plan that's already outdated. And three other projects that somehow also need your attention.

Sound like your kind of Tuesday?

Good. Because we're looking for an IT Project Manager Infrastructure who can bring structure to technical chaos, keep customers happy and make sure projects actually get across the finish line.

No two days are the same. No single customer gets all your attention. And no, you won't be managing just one project for the next three years.

Intrigued? Here's what you need to know.

You'll join our Managed IT Solutions (MIT) team, working at the intersection of customers, technology and people.

Your job? Make sure everyone knows what needs to happen, who's doing it and when it needs to be done.

Here’s what that looks like in practice:

  • Own your projects from A to Z: Plan, coordinate and follow up on IT infrastructure projects, keeping scope, timelines and resources under control.
  • Be the human bridge: Connect customers, System Engineers, Sales Engineers and external partners. Translate customer expectations into actionable plans and technical realities into clear communication.
  • Keep multiple projects moving: We work in a multi-project, multi-customer environment. You'll switch between projects, priorities and stakeholders throughout your day. Variety is guaranteed.
  • Build lasting customer relationships: You'll manage your own portfolio of long-term customers, understand their environments and look for ways to improve them. Happy customers aren't an accident, but your creation.
  • Think ahead: Spot potential roadblocks, anticipate risks and find solutions before a small issue becomes a big meeting with twelve people in it.
  • Support the bigger picture: Join presales meetings with our Sales Engineers to help understand customer needs and shape the right solutions. Depending on your experience, budget management can also become part of your responsibilities.
  • Get close to the action: Occasionally, you'll support our System Engineers on-site during urgent interventions. You don't need to be the person configuring everything, but you do need to understand what's happening on the ground.

In short: you're not just tracking tasks in a spreadsheet. You're making sure people, technology and expectations come together to deliver results.

We're not looking for someone who simply loves making Gantt charts look pretty. We need someone who can bring people together and get things done.

What you absolutely need:

  • At least 3 years of experience in project management. (Well duh, this aint the kiddie pool.)
  • A solid understanding of IT infrastructure and the realities of working with technical teams.
  • The ability to work confidently with skilled technical profiles, understand their challenges and help them deliver.
  • Strong organisational skills: You can structure complex projects, manage priorities and keep an overview when things get busy.
  • A proactive mindset: You anticipate, clarify, communicate and take ownership rather than waiting for problems to solve themselves.
  • Flexibility: Switching between customers, projects and unexpected situations doesn't throw you off course.
  • A solution-oriented attitude: Whether you understand the technical problem yourself or work it out with colleagues, customers and partners, you focus on moving forward.
  • A willingness to travel regularly to customer sites: Sometimes, the best way to understand a situation is to be there.

Bonus points if you also have:

  • Experience specifically in IT infrastructure project management.
  • Knowledge of technologies such as Veeam Backup, Dell Storage, Active Directory, VMware, Microsoft Server, LAN/WAN, firewalls, Microsoft 365 or F5 BIG-IP. (Yes, I copy paste this part, because I don't have all this knowledge myself)
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to adapt your communication to different audiences.
  • Fluency in Dutch, French and English. Being trilingual is a plus (Well, this is Belgium after all...)

BUT you don't need to know every technology inside out. You do need enough technical understanding to ask the right questions, challenge assumptions and help the right people find the right solutions.

Because herding technical cats should come with some pretty good perks.
