Functional Analyst

Arrangements: Full time, 5 days Monday to Friday (7h48 per day); hybrid working with homeworking possible 3 days a week; initial contract with a long-term mission that can be extended.

SMALS is looking for a senior functional analyst to reinforce existing teams in the context of a major business transformation program. The analyst will join a department of about 90 people. The work covers the hand-over, refactoring and greenfield development of new business applications. The role spans all phases of a project and is performed in an Agile environment.

The assignment centres on identifying, analysing, describing and validating existing business processes and new functional and non-functional user needs. Requirements are translated into business solutions through functional analyses and application designs, then validated with technical team members and translated into technical specifications. The analyst follows delivery end to end and produces documentation throughout the project lifecycle. Close cooperation with business analysts, developers, project managers and coordinators is expected.

The analyst delivers analysis documentation, software requirements specifications with diagrams and analysis, data models, user stories, and test plans and cases within deadlines. The Brussels-based mission is full time from Monday to Friday, with homeworking possible three days per week. Active French or Dutch and active English for documentation are required, alongside strong analysis, communication and Agile/Scrum capabilities. Belgian nationality is mandatory due to the nature of the activities.
