Team Description

Your team and your responsibilities

Within R&D Electronics Engineering division, Multimedia team oversees the development of future connected multimedia and navigation head units to meet our customers’ needs in the European region.

The Multimedia team in R&D Electronics Engineering division is responsible for:

  • The design and evaluation of serial production Head Unit ECUs* with local suppliers and partners. (*Electronic Control Unit)
  • Monitoring the EU region market trends and issuing requirements specifications to ensure the competitiveness of our products and customer experience.
  • Field quality monitoring and providing technical support /making improvement proposals.
  • Supporting the development of SW applications and connected services for multimedia Head Units and/or Data Communication Modules.
  • Establishing tools & processes for inhouse bench/field evaluations and test automation.
  • Support close collaborations with other Toyota Affiliates & EU technological companies

Your Responsibilities

  • Production Head Unit Development/Evaluation/Validation
  • Design, develop & test vehicle ECUs for production release, including at each development step from early requirements making, prototyping/concept proofing and until production implementation and validation (both SW and HW)
  • Based on system specifications and evaluation best practices, define the evaluation test cases/scenarios and execute them for the target ECU, both during bench and field/road tests.
  • Report and document the issues found using the appropriate channels and follow-up the countermeasure implementation and validation.
  • Design, develop & maintain tools and processes which will enable Hardware In the Loop* evaluation (*HIL) on bench as well as in-vehicle road tests.
  • Support Field Quality monitoring and issue investigation/resolution activities.
  • Future ECU development preparation
  • Benchmark & monitor latest technologies and trends in the fields of multimedia, navigation, HMI and vehicle-to-cloud interfaces for the European market.
  • Support the making of technical proposals and translate them into requirements and function specifications.
  • Support the ideation and development process of new features and connected services within our innovation workshops and the development of ‘proof of concepts’.
  • Project management & communication
  • Develop and follow-up project schedule with stakeholders (suppliers & other Toyota affiliates)
