About the Role
Our client, a prominent non-profit organization dedicated to improving public health outcomes in Welkom , is seeking an experienced Program Officer . This role focuses on the planning, implementation, and monitoring of health-related initiatives within the community. You will work closely with healthcare providers, community leaders, and beneficiaries to ensure programs are effective, sustainable, and meet the specific health needs of the region. This is a key position for someone passionate about public health and making a tangible difference in people's lives.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage project plans for various health programs, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
- Coordinate activities with implementing partners, healthcare facilities, and community stakeholders.
- Monitor program progress, collect data, and prepare regular reports on outcomes and impact.
- Facilitate workshops and training sessions for healthcare workers and community members.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies and donor requirements.
- Identify potential risks and challenges, and develop mitigation strategies.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Public Health, Health Administration, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in program management within the health sector.
- Strong understanding of public health principles and challenges in South Africa .
- Excellent project management, analytical, and reporting skills.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse groups and build strong relationships.
- Experience with monitoring and evaluation frameworks for health programs.
