Your Mission
As a Database Engineer within our Database Team, you will be responsible for the implementation, maintenance, and operational excellence of database and reporting platforms supporting critical banking applications.
You will play a key role in ensuring that our database environments are highly available, secure, performant, and scalable, while collaborating closely with infrastructure and development teams.
Role
Your Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain highly available and scalable database systems aligned with business and regulatory requirements
- Ensure smooth operation, maintenance, and upgrades of database platforms (backups, transaction logs, indexing, performance tuning, etc.)
- Contribute to deployment and patching automation initiatives
- Participate actively in IT Operations (on-call/operational duties approximately 1 day per week)
- Review and validate database schema changes, ensuring compliance with standards and optimal design choices
- Investigate and resolve performance issues and functional incidents in collaboration with application teams
- Maintain and improve deployment pipelines and promote best practices across teams
- Build strong working relationships with infrastructure, security, and development teams
