Electromechanical Technician (Maintenance & Automation)

Company Overview

Are you looking for your next professional challenge? How about being a part of building a new company from the ground up?

At White Raven, we have just started business. While we may be a small company, we have big ambitions. Over the last year, we have set up a fully operating pharmaceutical production unit and we are now ramping up its capacity. We believe in purpose, agile mindset, and technology.

Purpose: If you're concerned about the final purpose of your job, how about saving lives? Our focus at White Raven is to serve biotech companies developing new or improved treatments, including cancer treatments and rare diseases.

Agile mindset: We are a small team of highly skilled experts. We believe in an agile approach to build exceptional business processes, bring value to our customers, learn, and evolve quickly. We implement agile processes (Scrum) for daily work and fast, efficient decision-making.

Technology: We are investing in a state-of-the-art, fully automated production line built around the Cytiva SA25 robotic isolator, and a fully digitalized, end-to-end paperless process (eBMR, Odoo ERP, Scilife QMS).

To make this happen, we are actively looking for an Electromechanical Technician (Maintenance & Automation) based in Liège (BE) to keep our automated production environment running reliably and in a qualified state.

Role Summary

As an Electromechanical Technician, you will join the Maintenance team and report to the CQV & Engineering Lead. You will keep our production, utility and laboratory equipment reliable and compliant through preventive maintenance, calibration, and support to equipment qualification, in close collaboration with Quality, Manufacturing, CQV and Process Engineering.

This position is open to a junior profile: a recent graduate or someone with a first year of experience, with solid electromechanical and automation fundamentals and the willingness to learn the pharmaceutical GMP environment. You will grow your expertise on a modern, highly automated aseptic platform (Cytiva SA25 robotic isolator, single-use systems, clean utilities).

Roles and Responsibilities

You will:

  • Perform preventive maintenance on production, utility and laboratory equipment according to the maintenance plan.
  • Carry out and document instrument calibration, and support equipment qualification activities (IQ / OQ / PQ) with CQV and Process Engineering.
  • Troubleshoot and perform corrective maintenance and technical interventions on automated equipment (PLC / Siemens S7 / TIA Portal, sensors, actuators, instrumentation).
  • Manage and follow up the maintenance schedule (preventive plan, work orders, spare parts) in the ERP / CMMS.
  • Coordinate and follow up external suppliers and service providers for maintenance, calibration and equipment interventions.
  • Work closely with Quality (GMP compliance, change controls, deviations) and Manufacturing (equipment readiness, campaign support).
  • Maintain GMP / GDP-compliant maintenance and calibration documentation (Scilife, Odoo, eBMR).

Ideal Candidate Profile

We are looking for someone who combines electromechanical and automation fundamentals with curiosity, rigor, and the willingness to grow in a GMP environment.

  • Education: A diploma in electromechanics, automation, electronics or industrial engineering: Belgian professional bachelor (bachelier, BAC+3), master ingénieur industriel, or equivalent.
  • Experience: Junior profile welcome (fresh graduate) or up to 1 year of experience.
  • Skills:
  • Competencies in industrial automation / PLC, in particular Siemens (S7, TIA Portal).
  • Solid electromechanical fundamentals (electricity, mechanics, instrumentation, sensors/actuators).
  • Rigor and clear documentation habits.
  • Digital proficiency: Comfortable learning new software systems (Odoo ERP / CMMS, Scilife QMS, equipment interfaces).
  • Mindset: Willingness to work in a GMP-regulated pharmaceutical environment; open to AI-assisted tools and automation.
  • Language skills: French (working language); good technical English.
