As our Engineering Resource & Capacity Planner, you’ll be the person who brings clarity to complexity. Your mission

You’ll be the central link between Sales, Project Managementand Engineering, helping ABB balance today’s priorities with tomorrow’s opportunities. From evaluating new project opportunities to forecasting future capacity needs, you’ll ensure our engineering organisation has the visibility, resources and planning required to deliver world‑class automation solutions. Through data‑driven insights and close stakeholder collaboration, you’ll help shape how ABB grows, scales and executes its projects.

Your day‑to‑day includes

  • Aligning engineering capacity with business demand, ensuring the right expertise is available to successfully deliver ongoing and future projects.
  • Acting as the central coordination point between Sales, Project Management and Engineering, translating project needs into effective resource plans.
  • Supporting commercial decisions by providing insights into capacity availability, planning risks and delivery feasibility during the quotation process.
  • Building and maintaining a forward‑looking resource and capacity plan, proactively identifying bottlenecks, skill gaps and future workforce needs.
  • Monitoring resource utilisation across engineering teams and driving balanced workload distribution and efficient resource allocation.
  • Turning planning data into clear reports, dashboards and recommendations that support fact‑based business decisions.
  • Coordinating internal and external resources, resolving capacity conflicts and continuously improving planning processes and tools.

You are also

  • Experienced in resource planning, project planning, operations coordination or engineering‑driven project environments.
  • Comfortable working in a technical, project‑based organisation, ideally within industrial automation, engineered‑to‑order, manufacturing or a similar environment.
  • A strong analytical thinker who can interpret data, identify trends and translate insights into action.
  • An effective communicator who can collaborate confidently with stakeholders across different teams and organisational levels.
  • Organised, proactive and capable of managing multiple priorities while maintaining a clear overview of business needs.
  • Comfortable challenging assumptions and supporting decisions through facts, data and business insights.
  • Advanced in Microsoft Excel; experience with Power BI, ERP systems or project planning tools is a strong advantage.
  • Fluent in Dutch and English, both spoken and written.
