What exactly does a ripening specialist do?
A ripening specialist ensures that bananas, mangoes, and avocados are perfectly ripe when they reach the store. The role involves overseeing the entire ripening process, from receiving unripe fruit to preparing it for sale. Responsibilities include adjusting temperature and humidity in ripening rooms, monitoring fruit "lives" and handling them appropriately, and ensuring that the fruit meets quality standards before distribution.
