Your team and your responsibilities

Team description

We work in a cross-functional environment, collaborating primarily with R&D and Vehicle Performance Evaluation. Our services extend R&D with Production Engineering (Onsite & Manufacturing plants), and Homologation & Regulation departments.

Throughout the project lifecycle, we support early concept development, strategic planning and we provide expertise in vehicle prototype production, quality assurance and rapid prototyping.

Your responsibilities

In Prototype Engineering you will cover Quality and Production functions, both in Europe and Japan.

• Parts & Vehicle Quality :
  • Monitoring and confirming suppliers’ Quality performance based on Toyota requirements.
  • Establishing and maintaining long-term stable relationship with suppliers.
  • Supporting supplier to understand Toyota Quality requirements for prototype orders.
  • Leading Kaizen activity with suppliers, including packaging improvements.

• Prototype vehicle production:
  • Coordinating production of Prototype vehicles, body modifications and work side-by-side with the related design engineers and prototype technicians.
  • Detect assembly problems, ensure root-cause analysis and solve the problem by finding immediate countermeasure together with related engineers.
  • Report quality of prototype vehicle to related divisions and management.
  • Ensure accurate reflection and lessons learned.

• Rapid Prototyping:
  • Manage prototype projects from concept through realisation, delivery and assembly.
  • Develop and deliver prototype parts (3d printing, proto tooling) within demanding timelines to support product development activities.
  • Collaborate closely in R&D by applying engineering principles and hands‑on problem‑solving to design, build and test, ensuring rapid and efficient prototype iterations.
  • Benchmark EU prototype feasibility and manufacturability on QDC principle (quality, delivery, cost), optimizing processes, tools, and workflows, improving efficiency and reducing lead time.

Your Profile

You are fluent in English (TME’s business language) - French or Dutch is a strong asset

You have a bachelor’s degree (Technical profile) or equivalent through experience.

Your prior experience is at least 5 years in project assistance and workshop activities, digitalization and rapid prototyping knowledge is desirable.
