TERM OF EMPLOYMENT:

12-Month Position; Full-Time

STARTING DATE:

SALARY RANGE:

$18.50 - $25.00 per hour

*Actual Salary is Dependent Upon Education, Experience and Contract.

DUTIES:

  • 1. Be proactive anticipating personnel and office needs, make appropriate decisions quickly, be versatile, adapt to a variety of circumstances and exhibit effective problem-solving skills.
  • 2. Process phone, mail and e-mail correspondence for assigned supervisor in the department.
  • 3. Maintain staff time and attendance for payroll and Annual Professional Performance Reviews (APPR).
  • 4. Create recommendations for hire in Frontline for regular school year and ESY and as needed during the school year.
  • 5. Coordinate calendars, meetings and schedules when needed.
  • 6.Create letters for mailings to staff, parents, districts and do so by the required deadlines.
  • 7. Knowledge of Microsoft office, Frontline, WinCap Financial, and Company Mileage
  • 8. Other related duties as requested by the administrative staff.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 1.Civil Service eligibility for Clerk I: Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma, plus either:
  • (A) Four (4) years of paid full-time or its part-time or volunteer equivalent office clerical or secretarial experience; OR,
  • (B) An associate degree in Secretarial Science, Office Technology, or a closely related field, plus two (2) years of experience as described in (A) above; OR,
  • (C) An equivalent combination of education and experience as defined by the limits of (A) and (B) above.
  • *Successful completion of one (1) year of college coursework (or 30 semester credit hours) from a New York State registered or regionally accredited college or university may be substituted for up to one (1) year of the required experience.
  • *Experience as a Teller, Cashier or Salesclerk shall not be considered office clerical experience. 2. Strong interpersonal skills greeting visitors and callers, and in interactions with students and staff members.
  • 2. Excellent organizational skills and ability to work under pressure.
  • 3. Excellent communication skills.
  • 4. Excellent phone and interpersonal skills.
  • 5. Ability to work independently, as well, part of a team.
  • 6. Ability to handle confidential material appropriately.
  • 7. School office experience preferred.
  • 8. Experience with Special Education Procedures Preferred.
