We are looking for a Senior AI Engineer to design, build and operationalise AI-powered solutions that deliver measurable business value. You will take ownership of AI capabilities from technical design and experimentation through to production deployment and continuous improvement.
Working closely with software engineers, data teams, product owners and business stakeholders, you will develop reliable AI applications, integrate them into existing platforms and help shape the organisation’s AI engineering practices. A key part of the role will be exploring how Generative AI and Agentic AI can support complex workflows, automate tasks and improve decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop and deploy production-ready AI and Generative AI applications.
- Build LLM-powered solutions, including RAG pipelines, AI assistants and intelligent information retrieval.
- Design and implement agentic workflows using tool calling, orchestration and multi-step task execution where appropriate.
- Develop robust backend services and APIs, primarily using Python, to integrate AI capabilities with business applications and enterprise systems.
- Evaluate foundation models and AI frameworks based on quality, performance, security, latency and cost.
- Build AI evaluation frameworks, automated tests and feedback loops to improve model and application reliability.
- Implement monitoring, observability and tracing for AI systems in production.
- Apply security, privacy, access controls and responsible AI principles throughout the development lifecycle.
- Collaborate with cloud, data and software engineering teams on deployment, CI/CD and scalable architecture.
- Take ownership of deployed AI solutions, troubleshooting issues and continuously improving performance.
- Contribute to technical standards, architecture decisions and knowledge sharing across the engineering team.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Senior AI Engineer, Machine Learning Engineer, GenAI Engineer or in a similar technical role.
- Strong Python development skills and solid software engineering fundamentals.
- Hands-on experience building and deploying LLM-based applications in production.
- Strong understanding of Generative AI, LLM architectures, prompt engineering and RAG.
- Practical experience with agentic AI concepts, including agent orchestration, tool/function calling and multi-step workflows.
- Experience developing APIs and integrating AI solutions with databases, applications and external services.
- Knowledge of vector databases, embeddings and semantic search.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS or Google Cloud.
- Familiarity with Docker, CI/CD, automated testing and production monitoring.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.
- Comfortable working with multidisciplinary teams and taking technical ownership.
