John Sisk and Son is recruiting an MEP Commercial Manager for its Life Science team in Geel, Belgium. The manager answers for the commercial and contractual results of a group of projects inside one business unit and is the link between the project teams, the unit's leadership and the Commercial Director. The role runs from tender to final account.
Contract documents must be reviewed, negotiated and signed before work starts on site. The manager leads the project commercial teams on valuations, cash, reporting and risk, gives commercial support to tendering, procurement and contract negotiation, and oversees how subcontracts are let and administered under company policy.
Margin is to be protected through firm commercial controls, and Sisk's Internal Control and Risk Management Policy applies on every allocated project. Where disputes arise, the manager works on them with the in-house legal team. Quantity surveyors and assistant quantity surveyors report into the role for guidance and development, and lessons learned are fed back to the wider commercial team.
Sisk asks for a track record as an MEP Commercial Manager, or in an equivalent post, with a Tier 1 contractor, together with sound knowledge of contract administration, risk management and dispute resolution and experience of running commercial teams. Chartered membership of a body such as RICS or CIOB is desirable.
The advert lists 26 days' annual leave and a pension among the benefits but gives no salary figure.
