We are looking for an experienced Kafka Consultant for a 3-month hybrid contract in Brussels. The consultant will be responsible for designing and supporting data flow architectures using Apache Kafka as the backbone for microservices and event-driven systems. The role involves creating and optimizing data pipelines, configuring Kafka topics, partitions, and retention policies, evaluating Kafka Connect connectors, improving platform monitoring with tools such as Grafana, and troubleshooting Kafka clusters to ensure high availability. The consultant will also work on Kafka platform security using TLS, SASL, and ACLs, contribute to governance and operational documentation, and provide knowledge transfer and technical training to the team. Strong hands‑on experience with Apache Kafka, Kafka Broker, KRaft, Schema Registry, Kafka Streams, Kafka Connect, Confluent Platform, containerization, Ansible, distributed architectures, and microservices is required. Experience with Apache Iceberg, Spark, Flink, or similar streaming technologies is an added advantage.
