AISB - 1086 - Senior Java / Angular Developer

Context and project

The assignment takes place at a Belgian public-sector IT operator responsible for the information systems of several administrations and institutions.

The developer works across several digital transformation applications, covering both new development and service continuity for existing applications:

• A centralised digital service portal for citizens: personalised, secure access to public services and case tracking. Modular, multilingual platform (FR/EN), GDPR-compliant and aligned with accessibility standards, including migration of procedures already in production.
• An application for individual monitoring of pupils’ school careers: identification of learning difficulties, tailored follow-up and centralised administrative tracking.
• A case management application in the justice sector: centralised management of supervised individuals, workload distribution, task assignment, and schedule and calendar management.

Depending on project phases, the developer may move between applications, working alongside functional analysts, testers, developers and the technical lead.

Responsibilities

Design

• Contribute to the technical design of features with functional analysts, the technical lead and the team
• Design application components in line with the project’s architecture and standards
• Identify technical impacts and dependencies on existing components

Development

• Build and evolve Java backend and Angular frontend components
• Write the associated unit and integration tests
• Fix defects and deliver functional and technical enhancements
• Contribute to refactoring to improve code readability, maintainability and performance
• Take part in code reviews

Deployment

• Prepare and deliver developments across environments
• Validate the deployment and delivery of the solution
• Follow the defined delivery processes and standards

Quality

• Follow the established methodological and technical standards
• Help reduce technical debt: refactoring, library and framework upgrades
• Meet team commitments and deadlines

Communication

• Work daily with developers, analysts and testers
• Take part in SCRUM ceremonies
• Report difficulties, points of attention and technical risks to the Team Leader
• Document developments and share useful knowledge within the team

Profile

Experience

• Proven experience as an application developer, with recent hands‑on experience (2026) in a similar role

Languages

• French: native level required. The assignment is carried out exclusively in French.

Location and conditions

• Location: Brussels
• Hybrid working, with a minimum of 50% on‑site presence
• Full‑time consultancy assignment for one year
