Pharmaceutical Commercial Alliances Manager

C&C Life Science is partnering with a specialist European pharmaceutical company to recruit a Commercial Alliances Manager. This is a business-owner role with full accountability for a portfolio of distributor-led markets, combining commercial leadership with operational, financial, and contractual ownership.

About the Role

The Commercial Alliances Manager is responsible for the end-to-end management, performance, and development of the company's distributor network across assigned countries. You will act as the entrepreneurial lead and primary escalation point for each partnership, working closely with Supply Chain, Customer Service, Finance, Regulatory, and Legal to deliver an efficient order-to-cash process and drive market growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own distributor and alliance relationships, balancing a partnership mindset with firm performance management
  • Drive distributor performance through structured governance, regular business reviews, and clear action plans
  • Act as de facto country business owner with full accountability for the operational P&L of assigned markets
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-term business planning
  • Set up and manage distributor contracts, including commercial terms, renewals, amendments, and termination scenarios, in collaboration with Legal
  • Ensure distributors comply with contractual obligations, local pharmaceutical regulations, and quality, ethical, and governance standards
  • Define, monitor, and report on commercial and operational KPIs (sales, margins, service levels, inventory, overdue receivables)
  • Monitor demand forecasts, order intake, delivery, invoicing, and collections, proactively mitigating risks to supply continuity and cash flow
  • Conduct regular field visits to distributors and local markets to strengthen partnerships and improve execution
  • Identify business development opportunities, including portfolio expansion, new indications, tenders, product launches, and new partners

Requirements

  • Pharmaceutical industry experience is mandatory (distribution, commercial alliances, key account management, or similar)
  • Proven experience managing distributors or commercial partners across multiple countries
  • Strong understanding of pharmaceutical supply chains, order-to-cash processes, and regulatory environments
