S-Square is an independent IT third-party advisory firm operating mostly in Belgium. We help enterprise clients select and contract large IT service deals — from Cloud & Data Center to End User Services, Application Services, Cyber-Security, and beyond — bringing market intelligence, commercial rigor and contractual precision to some of the most complex IT sourcing decisions our clients will make.
We are recruiting a Senior IT Sourcing Advisor to lead client engagements end-to-end: from sourcing strategy and RFP through negotiation and contracting. This for Infrastructure Services (Cloud & Data Center, Service Desk & Workplace, Cyber-Security, Network)
What you'll do
You'll act as a trusted advisor to senior IT and procurement stakeholders — CIOs, CTOs, Heads of Infrastructure, Procurement Directors — guiding them through sourcing strategy, requirements & service definition, provider selection and contract negotiation for infrastructure services deals. Concretely, that means:
- Leading end-to-end sourcing engagements: sourcing strategy and requirements definition, RFI/RFP design, proposal analysis, vendor shortlisting, due diligence and contract negotiation
- Advising clients on service delivery models (single-vendor vs. multi-vendor, in-house vs. outsourced vs. hybrid) across Cloud/Data Center, End User Services, Network and Cyber-Security
- Drafting and negotiating SOWs, SLAs, pricing schedules, transition & transformation schedules, governance schedules, etc
- Designing and benchmarking commercial models — fixed price, T&M, consumption-based, outcome-based, gain-share.
- Tracking and translating market developments — hybrid/multi-cloud, XaaS, SD-WAN/SASE, UCaaS, modern EUC/hybrid-work models, sovereign solution and the impact of AI on IT service delivery — into practical advice for clients
- Keep an eye on the market by talking to client organization as part of our yearly Partnership Benchmark process.
- Building and maintaining a strong network of relationships with IT service providers, hyperscalers, etc
What you bring
- 15+ years in IT infrastructure services, with a strong technical acumen on IT infrastructure matters and experience in shaping large management services contracts
- Broad, credible knowledge across Cloud & Data Center, End User Services, Network, with at least a working grasp of Cybersecurity fundamentals
- A track record on complex, high-value sourcing engagements and RFP processes
- Strong commercial acumen — able to design, compare and negotiate pricing and commercial models across service towers
- Hands-on contract drafting and negotiation skills (SOW, SLA, pricing schedules, governance frameworks)
- Comfort and credibility advising C-level and senior IT/procurement stakeholders directly — you can hold the room
- Sharp analytical skills: benchmarking, business case development, TCO/ROI analysis
- A consulting mindset: structured, independent, client-first, comfortable with ambiguity
- A relevant Bachelor's or Master's degree (IT, Business, Engineering or related)
- Willingness to travel to client sites as needed
Typical background
People who thrive in this role usually come from one of a few places: a commercial, bid or account management role at an IT service provider; a vendor management or infrastructure services lead role inside a large enterprise, or a sourcing/IT advisory firm. Most have 15–20 years of overall IT infrastructure experience— deep enough in the technology to be credible with delivery teams, and commercially sharp enough to hold their own opposite a provider’s negotiation team.
- Independent advisory work across varied clients and industries — no vendor bias, no delivery conflicts
- Direct, regular exposure to senior IT and procurement decision-makers
- A flat, entrepreneurial environment with a clear path to practice lead / partner track
- Through our research arm (Partnership Benchmark) a continuous ear in the market as to market trends, e.g. the impact of AI on the IT services industry.
- Competitive compensation, reflecting the seniority and specialism of the role
