The origin and abundance of elements in the Universe are explored by doctoral research at the IAA - ULB. The project focuses on beta decay rates for neutron-rich nuclei and their role in r-process nucleosynthesis, extending large-scale nuclear structure models.

The successful candidate will develop theoretical frameworks to compute decay properties and assist in updating BRUSLIB for broader dissemination within the astrophysics community.
