Horticulturist

For our United Beet Innovation Center (UBIC) in Tienen, Belgium, we are looking for a Horticulturist. Are you looking for a new professional challenge where you can combine your passion for plants with hands-on work that supports the development of new sugar beet varieties? Then this might be just the role for you

Your key responsibilities

• You help raise and care for sugar beet plants under the desired conditions.
• You perform greenhouse-specific tasks.
• You take care of sampling, measurements and scoring.
• You take care of the registration of operations.
• You are responsible for the order, cleanliness and maintenance of your own workplace.
• You make improvement proposals in relation to your own operations and procedures.

Your profile

• You have a degree in Horticulture (upper secondary education) or equivalent experience.
• You have a green thumb and an interest in plant cultivation.
• You can work independently, accurately and effectively as part of a team.
• You are flexible and have an eye for detail and quality.
• You have an eye for continuous improvement.
• You are willing to obtain a forklift licence and phyto licence P1.
• You have good concentration skills and are patient.
• You are strong in fine motor skills and willing to perform fine and precise work.
• You like variety in your role and are flexible to take on various tasks.
