Data Solution Designer Microsoft SR

What you will do

Your main responsibility is to design Power BI solutions based on business needs and implement integrated reports, dashboards and alerts using Microsoft technologies (Data Factory, Power BI, Databricks). You will work on various reporting streams:

• Internal financial reporting based on SAP ECC6 and other sources
• Customer service reporting based on SAP ISU and other sources
• HR reporting (such as absenteeism and workplace accidents dashboards), using different databases including legacy technologies like Software AG and WinDev
• Annual CSRD and Taxonomy reporting
• Regulatory reporting

You will focus especially on the technical aspects: ETL, Data Lake, Data Warehouse, Data Consumption, Data Publication and Data Forecasting, while respecting the defined data architecture.

You will also be responsible for operational maintenance and run support of the data environment on Microsoft and Databricks. In collaboration with the Data Management department, you will contribute to improvements in the data architecture.

Throughout the assignment, you will comply with GDPR rules, ISO 27001 standards and the NIS2 directive.

What we are looking for

Essential technical skills:

• Expert level: Big Data, data solution design, Databricks, Microsoft Azure Data Factory, Microsoft Azure Data Lake, Microsoft Azure Data Warehouse, Microsoft Fabric/Power BI, multidimensional modelling
• Advanced level: data architecture, ETL, Microsoft Azure, SAP ECC table connector, SAP S4Hana, SQL including partitioning
• Intermediate level: M365 architecture, SAP ECC, SAP S4Hana ISU

Experience and knowledge:

• Experience integrating data from different sources using different technologies
• Knowledge of setting up dashboards and alert systems
• Experience using Databricks to develop short and medium-term growth analyses
• Understanding of the difference between data architecture and data solution design, and where you position yourself between the two

Certifications (desirable):

• Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Fundamentals
• Databricks Lakehouse Fundamentals

Languages:

You are fluent in Dutch, French and English (full professional proficiency in all three).

Other requirements:

• Experience in the utilities sector is an advantage
• Availability to work full-time on this assignment

The setting

This assignment runs for 24 months, starting late October 2026. You will work hybrid, with a minimum of three days per week on-site in Brussels (potentially non-consecutive days). Working hours are Monday to Friday, 7:00 to 19:00, with any overtime requiring prior approval.

You will need to coordinate your holiday planning with the client's service continuity needs and project constraints.
