As a senior Epic Owner, you have over 5 years of experience in guiding the epic under the Agile methodology.
Responsibilities
- Guide the epic through the portfolio Kanban
- Collaborate with other roles, Agile Release Trains, and teams
Preparation of the Epic
- Work with stakeholders and subject matter experts to define the epic
- Collaborate with development teams to size the epic and provide input for prioritization
- Create the Lean business case and other relevant factors
Implementation of the Epic
- Define a roadmap: who, when, dependencies, deadlines, milestones
- Secure commitment from Agile Release Trains involved
- Work collaboratively with Product Managers and System Architects from Agile Release Trains to split the epic into features
- Help prioritize these backlog items in their respective ART backlogs
- Participate in Program Increment (PI) Planning and System Demo
- Evaluate delivered features against the Minimum Viable Product (MVP) and epic business case at the end of every PI
- Decide or seek decision on the continuation of the epic implementation at the end of every PI
- Understand and report on the progress of the epic’s MVP with key stakeholders and Lean Portfolio Management (LPM) through KPIs and leading indicators
