Your function
Our client is a young and entrepreneurial law firm advising growth companies and organisations on complex digital and regulatory matters. The Technology & Data team works closely with clients to develop practical legal solutions that address the legal, operational and reputational risks created by rapidly evolving technologies.
As a Senior Associate, you will work closely with the partners on a broad range of technology, privacy and digital regulatory matters, with significant exposure to both strategic advisory work and day-to-day client needs.
- Advise clients on GDPR compliance, privacy governance and data protection matters.
- Advise on AI governance, emerging technologies and the implementation of new digital regulatory frameworks.
- Draft and negotiate SaaS, software and other technology-driven commercial agreements.
- Support clients during cybersecurity incidents and advise on related legal and regulatory risks.
- Lead and support compliance trajectories, risk assessments and digital governance projects.
- Advise on data-sharing arrangements, DPIAs, data subject requests and interactions with supervisory authorities.
- Contribute to the DPO-as-a-service offering, supporting clients with their ongoing privacy governance.
- Work closely with partners and clients to develop practical, commercially minded and forward-looking legal solutions.
Your profile
- Belgian Master of Laws with at least 4 years of relevant experience at a Belgian law firm.
- Strong experience in Data Protection, Information Security, Technology and/or AI-related matters.
- Genuine interest in digital innovation, emerging technologies and the evolving regulatory landscape.
- Experience advising businesses on compliance projects, technology contracts, digital governance and regulatory risk.
- Strong knowledge of GDPR and experience with technology-driven matters such as SaaS, software agreements, data sharing and cybersecurity incidents.
- Entrepreneurial and hands-on mindset with a pragmatic and solution-driven approach.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Dutch and English; French is an asset.
- Comfortable working autonomously while collaborating closely with partners and a close-knit team.
