Senior OpenShift Administrator AI

What you will do

You will support the deployment and management of a modern container infrastructure designed to enable AI application development in a secure, experimental environment. Your work will focus on Red Hat OpenShift 4 platforms running in the organisation's datacenters.

Your responsibilities include:

• Setting up Red Hat OpenShift 4 (and newer versions) infrastructure as a containerisation solution with Kubernetes orchestration, primarily for AI workloads
• Managing the day-to-day operations of container infrastructures, using automation tools such as Ansible
• Ensuring containers function correctly within these infrastructures
• Monitoring platform usage and performance using solutions like Prometheus and Kibana
• Analysing usage and performance trends and taking appropriate action based on these analyses
• Planning infrastructure extensions based on usage forecasts
• Coordinating the deployment of extensions and OpenShift infrastructure updates according to vendor recommendations, including major releases
• Analysing and validating the architectural evolution of the container application platform
• Documenting the work delivered

You will work within a multidisciplinary team that includes both internal staff and external specialists, contributing to the digital transformation of the organisation by replacing legacy tools and technologies with modern, secure solutions.

What we are looking for

You have solid experience as an IT system administrator with expertise in containerisation and orchestration technologies.

Required technical skills:

• Expert-level knowledge of virtualisation solutions in Linux environments (Red Hat Virtualization, KVM, VMWare, etc.)
• Confirmed experience with OpenShift 4: installing, deploying and troubleshooting OpenShift 4 environments
• Confirmed experience managing and deploying containers and their orchestration (Kubernetes) in Linux environments
• Confirmed experience hosting AI-type applications in containerised environments, using GPU resources
• Confirmed experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux Advanced Server 8
• Confirmed experience automating administration, maintenance and monitoring tasks with Ansible
• Confirmed knowledge of Microsoft O365 products at user level
• Junior-level knowledge of OpenLDAP and Samba
• Junior-level knowledge of backup and restore solutions in Linux environments (e.g. Commvault)
• Junior-level knowledge of Microsoft Windows 10 and 11 Enterprise

The setting

This assignment runs from 1 October 2026 to 31 December 2026.

You will work full-time (40 hours per week) in Brussels, with a hybrid arrangement: presence at the office at least twice a week depending on tasks and in agreement with the team. Remote work is permitted from home or from your employer's premises in Belgium.

The organisation is developing a strategic vision for responsible artificial intelligence use. The AI lab is a controlled, secure experimental environment where AI applications can be developed, tested and validated before potential deployment. The goal is to give the organisation safe, legal and ethical access to AI to support operational and support tasks.
