Technical Change Manager

Improving technology is one thing. Getting people on board with that improvement is another.

What will you be doing as a technical change manager for Brightnewday?

As a Technical Change Manager, you will work on improvement and change initiatives within industrial organizations. Many of these projects are related to maintenance, asset management, reliability, or technical operations.

You step in when a technical or organizational problem needs to be solved and implement the chosen approach on the work floor.

  • Quickly get to the bottom of technical and operational issues.
  • Translate an improvement plan into concrete actions, processes, and procedures.
  • Implement and monitor improvement initiatives.
  • Serving as a liaison between management, engineering, maintenance, and the people on the shop floor.
  • Recognizing resistance and understanding where it comes from.
  • Convincing people to adopt a different way of working, without necessarily being their supervisor.
  • Bringing structure to situations where processes or responsibilities are not yet clear.
  • Ensure that improvements are not just on paper, but are actually implemented.
  • Identify new opportunities for improvement during a project.

So you won't necessarily have a team where everyone reports directly to you. Your impact should come primarily from your credibility on the subject matter, your communication skills, and your ability to get people on board.

who are we?

At Brightnewday , innovation isn't just a buzzword-it's how we work. We’re looking for a driven technical change manager who shares our passion. As a Bright Innovator, you'll have the opportunity to gain experience in various sectors and roles within the manufacturing industry. Plus, you'll expand both your knowledge and your network.

Are you the Bright Innovator we're looking for?

We're not looking for a traditional consultant who mainly does analyses and creates PowerPoint presentations. Nor are we looking for a Maintenance Manager who is solely responsible for day-to-day technical operations.

You're someone who understands technology and can drive change within an organization.

Ideally, you should have:

  • A bachelor's or master's degree in electromechanics, mechanical engineering, or a comparable technical field.
  • A broad technical foundation in electromechanics.
  • Experience in maintenance, asset management, reliability, mechanical engineering, or an industrial production environment.
  • Sufficient technical understanding to engage in substantive discussions with engineers, maintenance technicians, and operations staff.
  • Experience with improvement, implementation, or change initiatives.
  • An understanding of how technical processes and organizations influence one another.

But your technical background alone isn't enough.

Exercising influence without hierarchical authority. You win people over because you understand what you're talking about, listen carefully, and can clearly explain why something needs to change.

Understanding people. You recognize that resistance does not automatically mean unwillingness, and you know how to reconcile different interests.

Moving from analysis to action. You can break down a problem and understand or help shape a plan, but you get your energy mainly from putting it into action.

Communicating at different levels. One moment you're discussing priorities with a plant manager, and the next you're standing next to a machine with a maintenance technician.

Take ownership. If something isn't going as planned, don't just sit back and wait. Figure out where the problem lies and get the project back on track.

What do we offer you?

At Brightnewday , we Brightnewday our Bright Innovators highly, which is why we offer you more than just a competitive salary. You'll have the opportunity to participate in our Technology Roadmap and further your professional development based on your own learning and growth needs.

  • An attractive compensation package with fringe benefits.
  • A high degree of autonomy and trust: you take charge of your projects and are given the freedom to make your mark.
  • Projects that make an impact - both with clients and internally - in the worlds of manufacturing, technology, and industrialization.
  • The opportunity to help shape our Technology Roadmap and develop new services.
  • Training, coaching, and knowledge sharing with other Bright Innovators.
  • A warm, informal culture with short lines of communication and lots of enthusiasm (events, drinks, get-togethers, and so on).
