LASEA Belgium is looking for a Mechanical Engineer (F/H/X)
Founded in 1999, LASEA provides laser micro-machining solutions to some of the world’s most prestigious companies, including the top three Swiss watchmakers, two GAFA companies, leaders in the eyewear, pharmaceutical and medical industries (intraocular, vascular and cochlear implants), as well as several big names in Silicon Valley. Our solutions are powered by KYLA™, a software programme developed entirely in-house.
With around 180 employees, it has already installed more than 3,000 systems in over 30 countries (across 5 continents). In addition to its headquarters in Belgium (Liège Science Park), it has subsidiaries in Mons (Belgium), Bordeaux, Besançon (France), Biel (Switzerland) and San Diego (United States).
To strengthen its mechanical engineering team, LASEA is looking for a Mechanical Engineer for its Liège location (Liège Science Park).
Your responsibilities:
- You will participate in projects related to the laser micromachining of materials. More specifically, you will contribute to the development and design of opto-mechanical subsystems used in LASEA’s machining equipment
- You will design and model components and assemblies for new optical systems and equipment related to machining machines
- From time to time, you will provide support to the machine assembly and after-sales service teams
- You will be part of the development team in Belgium and will work closely with other LASEA entities, as well as with its subcontractors, partners, and customers
Your profile :
- You are an engineer specializing in precision mechanics or have equivalent skills gained through experience. Ideally, you have knowledge of optics
- You have recognized expertise in industrial design using SolidWorks. You are comfortable designing metal and plastic parts and have a solid grasp of the rules of functional dimensioning and tolerancing. You also have significant experience in the design and optimization of complex 3D models
- You also have practical knowledge of machining (milling and turning) and sheet metal fabrication (laser cutting, punching, bending, and welding). You take manufacturing constraints into account when designing parts
- You are fluent in French and English, both spoken and written
- You are meticulous and committed to doing a thorough job. You see the tasks entrusted to you through to completion
