If you know what actually happens between a clearance request and a clearance certificate, this is a rare role.
You will support a newly established central personnel security section at a NATO agency in Brussels, working the full lifecycle of personnel security clearances with all 32 member nations.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Supporting initiation, renewal, transfer and revocation of personnel security clearances
  • Interacting regularly with the National Security Authorities of all 32 member nations
  • Supporting the handover of personnel security for the agency's remote locations into the new central section
  • Keeping the records and correspondence that make each case auditable
  • Briefing the work in English to a varied audience

What you will need

  • Demonstrated experience in personnel security under NATO security policy
  • Direct experience interacting with member nations' National Security Authorities
  • Practical knowledge of initiation, transfer, renewal and revocation of clearances
  • Strong written English and the confidence to brief it

Practical detail

  • Contract engagement, about 516 hours from late September to the end of December 2026
