What you will do
You will work as a GIS architect for a data platform at a Flemish public-sector organisation. Your role focuses on designing and developing the geospatial data architecture that supports the organisation's data-driven operations.
You will be responsible for:
- Designing the GIS architecture for the data platform
- Ensuring integration of geospatial data with the broader data infrastructure
- Advising on technical choices and best practices for GIS solutions
- Collaborating with data engineers, analysts and other stakeholders
- Contributing to the strategic direction of the geospatial data landscape
What we are looking for
We are looking for an experienced GIS architect with strong knowledge of geospatial data platforms and architecture.
You have:
- Proven experience as a GIS architect or in a similar role
- Deep knowledge of GIS technologies, tools and standards
- Experience with data platform architecture and integration
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- The ability to work independently and communicate effectively with stakeholders
- Fluency in Dutch (required for this public-sector environment)

This assignment starts on 19 October 2026. The role is based in Flanders and involves working on-site or hybrid, depending on the organisation's arrangements.
You will work in a public-sector environment focused on environmental and sustainability challenges, where geospatial data plays a key role in policy and operations.
