Antwerpen, Antwerpen, Belgique AT RECRUITMENT Temps plein 70 000 € - 110 000 € Contrat

Our client is a fast-growing European fintech scale-up that aims to fundamentally transform the way mortgages are applied for and processed.

From Antwerp, the team develops a cloud-based digital mortgage platform that provides lenders and borrowers with a more efficient, transparent and user-friendly experience.

The engineering team consists of an international group of around 30 professionals. The organisation has a clear ambition: to use technology to fundamentally transform a traditional industry.

To support the continued growth of the platform, they are looking for a DevOps Engineer.

ROLE DESCRIPTION

As a DevOps Engineer, you will be responsible for the infrastructure on which both the SaaS platform and AI solutions run.

You will work hands-on with cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes, CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code, while also having the freedom to help shape how the platform environment evolves.

You will join a small and experienced DevOps team and report directly to the CTO. This gives you significant ownership and impact: you will not only manage existing infrastructure, but also help determine how the organisation further develops its technical platform.

Your responsibilities

  • Manage and evolve the cloud infrastructure using Terraform.
  • Build and optimise CI/CD pipelines using GitLab or GitHub.
  • Manage Kubernetes workloads and deployments through GitOps and Argo CD.
  • Work primarily with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), with additional exposure to AWS, Azure and IBM Cloud.
  • Support developers with debugging, deployments and technical issues, helping them work as efficiently as possible.
  • Contribute to a secure and reliable infrastructure within a highly regulated fintech environment.
  • Focus on security, compliance, identity management, secrets, certificates and tenant isolation.
  • Contribute to the further professionalisation of monitoring, reliability and incident management.
  • Participate in limited on-call responsibilities during office hours.
  • AI-native way of working

Within the organisation, AI is not a separate technology alongside development and operations. It is an integral part of how the engineering teams work.

You are therefore expected to actively use AI to increase your own efficiency and output.

For example, you will use AI tools and agents to:

  • generate infrastructure code and Terraform modules;
  • create and debug CI/CD configurations;
  • develop scripts and automations;
  • create documentation and runbooks;
  • analyse technical problems more efficiently;
  • build agentic workflows for concrete DevOps and platform activities.

You remain responsible for architecture, security, quality and code review. AI does not replace your technical judgement - it enables you to build faster and smarter.

PROFILE DESCRIPTION

We are looking for someone who is technically strong, enjoys taking ownership and is curious about new ways of working.

Ideally, you have:

  • At least 4 years of experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering or a similar role.
  • Strong experience with GCP and cloud infrastructure.
  • Hands‑on experience with Kubernetes, Terraform and Argo CD/GitOps.
  • Good knowledge of CI/CD, preferably with GitLab or GitHub.
  • Strong scripting skills, preferably with Python. Bash or TypeScript are also interesting.
  • A good understanding of security and compliance.
  • Experience with, or an interest in, regulated environments is a plus.
  • Experience with multiple cloud environments is an advantage.

In addition, we consider it important that you actively use AI in your day-to‑day way of working.

You do not necessarily need several years of professional experience with AI agents or agentic engineering. We are primarily looking for someone who already understands how AI tools can be integrated into development and operations and who actively experiments with them.

Experience with tools such as Claude, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Codex or similar AI development tools is interesting, combined with a practical mindset towards automation and AI‑assisted development.

You are also:

  • Analytical and creative.
  • Independent and proactive.
  • Comfortable working in an environment where not everything is defined upfront.
  • Willing to experiment with new technologies and challenge existing ways of working.
  • Someone who enjoys taking responsibility and wants to make a real impact.
  • You are fluent in English. Dutch, German or other European languages are a plus.
