We are searching for the best talent for Senior Scientist, Lab Automation & Screening Operations in Beerse, Belgium.

Purpose:

We are seeking a scientifically curious and digitally minded scientist to help advance discovery operations through the integration of scientific data, assay development, automation, and emerging digital technologies.

Working in partnership with stakeholders across science, informatics, and data science, you will help design and implement innovative workflows, platforms, and capabilities that improve the efficiency, scalability, and impact of screening and profiling activities.

You will be responsible for:

Scientific Discovery & Data Excellence

  • Support the development, optimization, and transfer of screening and profiling assays into automated environments.
  • Enable the generation, integration, and management of high-quality scientific data across discovery workflows.
  • Develop data workflows and analytics solutions using digital tools and platforms to improve data accessibility, quality, and scientific value.
  • Partner with scientists and informatics teams to ensure data is fit for advanced analytics, modeling, and AI applications.

Digital Platforms, Automation & Workflow Integration

  • Drive continuous improvement of laboratory automation, digital workflows, and scientific data platforms.
  • Design, implement, and optimize integrated workflows across assay systems, laboratory automation, data repositories, and reporting environments.
  • Act as a key stakeholder for scientific applications and workflow platforms, translating business needs into scalable digital solutions.
  • Collaborate with Business Technology, automation specialists, and external partners to enhance capabilities and improve end-to-end process visibility and efficiency.

Innovation, AI & Future Capabilities

  • Explore and implement emerging technologies that accelerate scientific discovery, including AI-assisted workflows, advanced analytics, and intelligent automation.
  • Enable AI-ready data ecosystems and support the evolution of next-generation discovery platforms.
  • Identify opportunities to transform scientific challenges into innovative solutions that improve decision‑making and operational effectiveness.
  • Champion a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and digital transformation.

Qualifications/Requirements:

Required

  • Bachelor's, Master's or PhD in Life Sciences, Biomedical Sciences, Biotechnology, Bioengineering, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Minimal of 5 years experience in assay development, screening operations, scientific data management, laboratory automation, informatics, or related disciplines.
  • Demonstrated ability to work at the interface of science, data, and technology to improve workflows, data quality, or operational efficiency.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and stakeholder management skills

Preferred

  • Experience with screening, profiling, and cell‑based assays.
  • Experience with scientific data platforms such as Signals ELN, LiveDesign, Dotmatics LUMA or Genedata Biologics, Sapio or equivalent, Genedata, or related systems.
