AGC Glass Europe is the European branch of the AGC Group (Asahi Glass Co., Ltd), the world's leading producer of flat glass. The group employs 13,000 people in Europe, with 14 float glass lines, 10 automotive glass processing centers, and more than 100 distribution-processing units, stretching all over Europe.

You will be based at our Technovation Centre, near Brussels (Belgium), where R&D, engineering, and IP activities are brought together under one roof, with a team of over 280 professionals.

You will join the Pulsaart (by AGC) team (www.pulsaart.com), developing and testing advanced connectivity solutions for the automotive, transportation, and aerospace sectors. As part of a dynamic team of RF engineers and technicians, you will contribute to building a unique portfolio of glass-based automotive antennas.

Your mission

Recent years have seen rapid growth in mobile satellite communications, driven by the emergence of LEO constellations such as Starlink, Amazon Kuiper, OneWeb, and others. At the same time, interest from the automotive sector in satellite connectivity is increasing rapidly, creating new opportunities for advanced antenna systems integrated into vehicles.

This trend is further reinforced by the development of autonomous and software-defined vehicles, which will require robust, high-throughput, and always-available connectivity to support advanced mobility services, over-the-air updates, data exchange, and future connected vehicle applications.

As the Connectivity Team of a glass manufacturing company active in automotive antenna design, we are developing innovative antenna solutions integrated on or in automotive glass. In this context, we are looking for an Antenna Array Expert to strengthen our R&D team.

Your mission will focus on the development of new satellite antenna systems for automotive applications, with a particular emphasis on phased antenna arrays capable of tracking LEO satellites.

Your responsibilities

  • Identify, define, and monitor new antenna technologies to be developed for the automotive and mobility markets, in line with our strategic roadmap
  • Conceptualize, simulate, prototype, and test innovative antenna concepts integrated into glass or other relevant materials
  • Explore disruptive antenna architectures suitable for automotive satellite communication applications
  • Contribute to the development of phased array antenna solutions, including beam steering and satellite tracking capabilities

2/ Lead innovation projects up to the pre-industrial stage

  • Define target specifications, performance requirements, and validation criteria
  • Develop prototypes and proof-of-concept demonstrators to validate innovative antenna solutions
  • Define the bill of materials and target cost assumptions to support the business case
  • Propose pre-industrialization scenarios, including recommended manufacturing technologies, process constraints, and early quality requirements
  • Report and present innovation results to internal stakeholders, customers, and external partners

3/ Contribute to intellectual property activities

  • Participate in IP surveys, technology watch, and competitive intelligence activities
  • Contribute to IP brainstorming sessions and invention disclosures
  • Support the protection of team inventions through patent applications

To support your development, you will have access to state-of-the-art tools, including RF simulation software and large anechoic chambers capable of measuring full vehicles across broad frequency ranges.

Are you the perfect match ?

  • Master’s degree or PhD in electromagnetics, RF engineering, telecommunications, or a related field.
  • Proven hands-on experience in electromagnetics and antenna arrays is required
  • In-depth knowledge of beamforming theory, phased array antennas, and digital beamformi
