About The Role

We are looking for an experienced Network Designer / Architect to join a mission-critical network environment in Brussels. The successful candidate will act as a design authority for a large-scale customer access network, working alongside senior network designers and architects. The role focuses on defining and managing the hardware and software lifecycle of a Juniper- and Cisco-based Hub-and-Spoke network architecture, while ensuring high levels of security, resilience, availability, and operational integrity. Regular on-site presence in Belgium is required to support testing, validation, and implementation activities.

About The Role

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the evolution of network architecture and technology solutions through strategic evaluation of new technologies, products, and design improvements.
  • Define and review network solutions in collaboration with architects, engineering teams, business stakeholders, customers, management, and technology partners.
  • Provide senior-level technical guidance throughout solution design and implementation activities.
  • Ensure network designs meet technical, operational resilience, and cybersecurity requirements.
  • Act as a senior escalation point for complex network and infrastructure incidents.
  • Support operational teams with advanced troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and resolution of critical network issues.
  • Work closely with technology vendors and cybersecurity teams to identify and remediate network security vulnerabilities.
  • Define and coordinate software upgrades, security patches, configuration improvements, and lifecycle initiatives.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects as a Network Subject Matter Expert and contribute to technical design reviews.
  • Maintain high-quality technical and network design documentation and stay current with networking and cybersecurity developments. Required Technical Expertise

  • Experience with Ansible, Bitbucket, and network automation is highly valuable

Experience Profile

  • 8+ years of relevant experience in network infrastructure, network design, or architecture.
  • Strong hands-on background with Cisco and Juniper technologies.
  • Extensive experience designing and supporting complex enterprise network environments.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and provide senior-level technical guidance.
  • Experience in environments where security, resilience, availability, and operational stability are critical.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with architects, engineers, cybersecurity specialists, vendors, management, and business stakeholders.
  • Comfortable operating both at architecture/design level and close to implementation and operational teams.
