Nexeo is currently looking for a KYC / AML Analyst to strengthen the 1st Line of Defense KYC/AML/RCT team of one of our clients in Brussels.

You will play a key role in managing merchant onboarding, AML alert investigations and KYC remediation activities, ensuring that client files comply with regulatory and internal requirements.

This is a great opportunity for someone with initial experience in KYC/AML, ideally within banking, financial services, fintech or payments/acquiring, who wants to further develop their expertise in a regulated environment.

  • Review and analyze Medium-Risk (MR) and High-Risk (HR) merchant files.
  • Assess legal documentation, company structures, business activities and UBO information.
  • Prepare validation sheets for submission to the 2nd Line of Defense / Compliance Committee.
  • Ensure onboarding files comply with internal KYC/AML procedures.
  • Work closely with business teams and merchants to obtain missing or updated documentation.

AML Alert Processing

  • Review, log and classify alerts generated by monitoring and screening systems.
  • Investigate atypical transactions and other AML triggers.
  • Collect additional information and supporting evidence.
  • Prepare structured analysis notes for escalation to Compliance.
  • Identify and escalation potentially suspicious activities.
  • Document risk typologies, triggers, findings and recommendations.

KYC Remediation

  • Participate in client portfolio remediation and recertification exercises.
  • Review and update KYC information and supporting documentation.
  • Reassess and update client risk classifications when required.
  • Identify incomplete or outdated files.
  • Follow up with merchants and internal stakeholders to obtain missing information.

Reporting & Process Improvement

  • Contribute to monthly KYC/AML reporting and statistics.
  • Monitor metrics such as alerts processed and average resolution times.
  • Identify opportunities to improve KYC/AML processes.
  • Contribute to standardized templates, checklists and operational procedures.
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience in KYC, AML, Compliance, Client Onboarding or Transaction Monitoring.
  • Experience within banking, financial institutions, fintech, payments or acquiring is a strong plus.
  • Good understanding of AML/CFT regulations and KYC requirements.
  • Ability to analyze corporate and legal documentation.
  • Comfortable investigating client files and identifying inconsistencies or potential risks.
  • Bachelor/Master degree or equivalent professional experience.
