SAP EDI Specialist
Belgium (Hybrid), Long-Term Assignment, Freelance / Employed Consultant
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced SAP EDI Specialist to join a long-term international program within a complex SAP environment.
In this role, you will be responsible for designing, supporting, and enhancing EDI integrations that enable seamless communication between SAP and external business partners across Europe. You will work closely with business stakeholders, SAP experts, developers, and integration teams to ensure reliable and efficient Order-to-Cash processes.
This position offers the opportunity to work on business-critical integrations while contributing to the continuous improvement of a large-scale SAP landscape.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end EDI integration projects with external partners
- Gather and analyze business and customer requirements
- Translate business needs into SAP EDI functional solutions
- Configure and support SAP SD and EDI processes
- Analyze and resolve complex EDI and IDoc-related issues
- Collaborate with SAP developers and integration teams
- Define interface specifications, mappings, and integration requirements
- Coordinate testing, deployment, and go-live activities
- Provide third-level support for business-critical incidents
- Create and maintain technical and functional documentation
- Drive process standardization and continuous improvement initiatives
Required Experience
- Strong experience within SAP SD environments
- Proven experience with SAP EDI integrations
- Good knowledge of:
- IDocs
- Partner Profiles
- ALE
- Output Management
- Order-to-Cash (OTC) processes
- Experience gathering business requirements and translating them into technical solutions
- Ability to analyze and troubleshoot complex integration issues
- Experience working with both technical and business stakeholders
- Professional level of English

Experience with one or more of the following:
- EDIFACT
- VDA
- ORDERS
- DELFOR
- DESADV
- INVOIC
- SAP PI/PO
- SAP CPI / SAP Integration Suite
- API and JSON integrations
- Manufacturing, Automotive, FMCG, or Logistics environments
- ABAP debugging skills
