YOUR TASKS

As a legal scholar / legal researcher in energy law (10% appointment), you will be responsible for the legal track of the VLAIO TETRA research project V2GUIDE ("Vehicle-to-Grid Implementation and Decision Engine"). Within this project, you will investigate the direct and conditional legal and regulatory aspects of bidirectional charging (V2G/V2X) for SMEs, fleet managers, charge point operators (CPOs), and installers.

Your tasks include, among others:

  • Legal baseline & final validation (WP1): Mapping the Flemish and federal energy law framework (including the Energy Decree, Energy Order, and Technical Regulations of grid operators/regulators) with regard to bidirectional energy flows.
  • European & market developments: Analyzing the implications of EMD-5 (Energy Market Design) for active consumers and the interaction with European standards and obligations (such as AFIR).
  • Knowledge translation & dissemination: Translating complex legal matters into practical, accessible information sheets ("V2Guide Compass") and 'one-pagers' tailored for HR, Legal, Finance, and Facility Management.
  • Collaboration: Actively participating in the advisory committee with various stakeholders from the energy sector (grid operators, CPOs, installer federations, and public authorities).

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

You hold a Master’s degree in Law.

You have thorough knowledge of and practical experience in energy law (preferably proven through experience as an in-house legal counsel or attorney-at-law dealing with energy and/or charging infrastructure matters).

Knowledge of or experience with the legal, tax, and regulatory aspects surrounding electric vehicles, charging infrastructure (CPO/eMSP), and energy flexibility/market systems is recommended.

Academic or practice-oriented publications in the field of energy law are considered an advantage.

Thorough knowledge of Dutch is required.

WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU

  • We offer you a contract of 10% of definite duration for the period from 22 months.
