Topcon Positioning Group is headquartered in Livermore, California. We design, manufacture, and distribute productivity tools that foster a brighter future. We are looking for a Machine Control Application Specialist to join our team in Zellik, Belgium.

Job Purpose

This team member shall work closely with Support leadership Belgium, Professional Services EMEA, and the Sales Unit in a pre- and post‑sales role for Topcon distribution partners and end users. As part of the Topcon Positioning Belgium Support team, this member will be a driving force in increasing sales of Geo‑Positioning solutions through technical and application knowledge to meet or exceed financial goals set by Topcon.

Core Job Duties

  • Responsible for daily technical support (email, phone, chat) for the Belgium/Luxemburg market together with other team members and global Professional Services colleagues, taking care of all incoming support requests linked to Topcon/Sokkia related products (MAC).
  • Member of the Machine Control Training team, lead and maintain seasonal dealer and end‑user trainings.
  • Support the sales team(s), prepare technical demos and presentations.
  • Work closely with sales and marketing staff to provide business solutions.
  • Create online content (Quick Guides, How‑to, notification messages).
  • Act as the subject‑matter expert (SME) for the following applications:
    • Machine Control Application – SME level: high
    • Geo‑Positioning – SME level: medium
    • Topnet Live, CORS – SME level: medium
  • Keep up to date with associated new developments.
  • Handle all common support and services activities in line with goal settings and experience.
  • Communicate with the team leader and/or manager.
  • Align with EMEA support colleagues and work with the European team on global goals, projects, content, and direction.
  • Participate in training courses to expand skills and obtain certifications.

Minimum Requirements

  • Education: Degree in Construction Engineering, Geodesy, Survey Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: Preferable 3 years of work in construction applications, vertical construction, road construction, or other infrastructure projects.
  • Knowledge & Skills: Practical knowledge of machine control techniques and geomatics is a plus.
  • Troubleshooting, hands‑on mindset, friendly and supportive personality.
  • Professional communication skills.
  • Comfortable working with various IT systems (MS Teams, Outlook, Salesforce, etc.).
  • Experience with the different phases of a construction jobsite process.
  • Language: Dutch mandatory; good in French & English (verbal & written).

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to perform desk work.
  • Ability to move safely and independently on construction sites and with construction machinery.
  • Ability to see, hear, and speak to communicate with customers remotely and onsite.
  • Clear communication and assertiveness required for the task.

Working Conditions

Willingness to travel to jobsites and customers throughout Belgium and Luxemburg. Contract details specify additional information.
