Senior Business Analyst – Energy Market Coordination

What you will do

You will join the market coordination team of a Belgian energy network operator, supporting a portfolio of projects driven by upcoming changes and innovations in the energy market. The team provides central expertise on market operations and data management, bridging internal and external stakeholders.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Taking on the business analyst role within one or more projects, monitoring dependencies with other projects and collaborating closely with fellow business analysts
  • Facilitating meetings between process owners, internal and external experts, applying best-practice processes and supporting change acceptance
  • Supporting project leaders with expertise, content input and peer review of deliverables
  • Documenting and following up on working groups and meetings, capturing decisions and proposals in clear documentation
  • Maintaining an overview of topics under analysis, managing changing priorities and communicating transparently with the team and stakeholders
  • Developing overarching communication and training materials
  • Preparing for and actively participating in internal and external working groups
  • Analysing new initiatives or change requests in depth, considering both market and organisational perspectives
  • Defining end-to-end test scenarios and supporting their execution
  • Supporting migration and transition activities

What we are looking for

  • At least 5 years of proven experience as a business analyst
  • At least 7 years of proven experience as a business or functional analyst in a similar environment
  • At least 5 years of proven experience within energy utilities
  • Proven experience with energy market operations (MIG-4/MIG-6)
  • Proven experience in documenting end-to-end business processes
  • Proven experience with market post-processes such as billing and settlement
  • Proven experience in developing communication and training materials
  • Proven experience with acceptance testing
  • Proven experience with business process management (BPM), including development and optimisation of business processes
  • Stakeholder management experience is a strong asset
  • Fluent Dutch (C2 level) is required

The setting

This assignment runs from late November 2026 to late November 2027, with the possibility of extension. The role is based in the Ghent region. Hybrid working is possible in consultation with the team lead, and occasional travel to other locations may be required.
