The standards you write decide whether allied radios, satellites and networks can talk to each other. A multinational defence headquarters in Brussels is looking for a communications standards engineer to lead the modelling of its communications reference architecture and help develop the technical standards behind it.

What You Would Be Doing

  • Leading the ArchiMate modelling of communications reference architectures
  • Drafting and maintaining technical standards for communications and networking
  • Helping integrate HF and other beyond line of sight systems with IP-based networks
  • Defining measurable conformance criteria, with a focus on satellite communications
  • Supporting interoperability across radio, satellite and cellular domains
  • Supporting the committees and working groups that govern this work

What you would bring

  • A university degree in a relevant CIS field, or an equivalent technical qualification
  • A qualification in ArchiMate and TOGAF, or a comparable framework
  • At least 5 years working with military CIS technical specifications in operational settings
  • Strong project management, communication and analytical skills
  • The ability to turn complex specifications into clear, actionable guidance
  • A plus: experience with military standardisation documents, ITIL, PRINCE2 or PMP

Why this one is worth a look

Your work becomes the common language that allied communications systems speak.
