Skills, knowledge, experience required:

  • A degree in a relevant field such as Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field ;
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in marketing, communications, public relations/public affairs ;
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in crafting strategic, results driven campaigns ;
  • Minimum of 2 years’ working with multinational, cross-functional teams, including subject matter experts, graphic designers, videographers, and PR professionals ;
  • Proficiency with marketing and communication tools, media engagements, and project management software, including management reporting ;
  • Experience with managing and fostering relationships across all levels.

Desirable:

  • Experience working in military organizations and engaging with military audiences ;
  • Experience working in multinational organizations and collaborating with diverse international teams.

Duties/role:

  • Developing clear, concise, and persuasive messages that translate Command priorities into coherent narratives for defined audiences, while ensuring messaging reflects Command goals, values, and brand identity ;
  • Planning communications content for NATO leadership, Nations, NATO HQs, and external stakeholders by defining the intended audience, communication objective, key message, and appropriate channel for each activity ;
  • Coordinating with ACT/SMC, subject matter experts, graphic designers, videographers, social media staff, and creative media teams to transform approved messages into written, visual, and digital products ;
  • Reviewing communications products to ensure compliance with applicable direction and guidance, maintaining a consistent Command voice, and ensuring visual and editorial coherence across communication channels ;
  • Supporting crisis communications efforts by preparing time-sensitive communications products and providing advice during crises or emerging issues, enabling rapid, accurate, transparent, and coordinated responses ;
  • Providing communications support for events, project launches, and initiatives, including developing event-specific messaging, preparing speaker support materials, creating audience information products, and managing post-event communication requirements ;
  • Monitoring communications outputs and engagement results, assessing effectiveness against agreed objectives, tracking stakeholder feedback where available, and reporting performance findings and recommendations to leadership .
