Job Description
Your Impact in this roleThe HR Representative (Hard HR) plays a key role in ensuring compliant, efficient and future-proof people practices across the organization. The role reports to the HR Partner Business Services Dessel HR, Employee and Industrial Relations and works closely with the Payroll Specialist, HR Representative (Soft HR), managers and employees.
As the local subject matter expert for labour legislation, compensation & benefits, reporting and industrial relations topics, you provide expert guidance on complex HR matters and translate legislative and policy changes into practical actions for the business. You also take the lead in a variety of strategic and operational HR projects aimed at improving employee experience, compliance and operational excellence.
In the role, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:Provide expert advice to managers and HR colleagues on Belgian labour law, social legislation, HR policies and compliance requirements.
Monitor legislative developments and translate legal changes into practical HR policies, procedures and business actions.
Support and prepare complex and confidential employee cases, including disciplinary matters, exits, restructurings, settlement agreements and sensitive employee relations situations in cooperation with the HR Partner.
Prepare or check complex personnel cost calculations, severance calculations and other employment-related financial analyses.
Participate in the preparation and implementation of collective labour agreements and company-level HR policies.
Act as the local Compensation & Benefits point of contact and collaborate with regional and global Centres of Excellence.
Support salary review processes, incentive programs and benefits administration.
Manage and coordinate HR reporting activities, ensuring accurate and timely people data and workforce analytics.
Prepare HR dashboards, reports and presentations to support management decision-making.
Coordinate HR compliance activities and support internal and external audits.
Act as the HR lead for employment-related governance, documentation and control processes.
Support HR budgeting activities and workforce cost planning processes.
Lead and participate in HR projects related to compensation & benefits, mobility, job classification, pension and insurance programs and process optimization.
Coordinate and monitor external HR-related vendors and service providers where applicable.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve efficiency, compliance and employee experience.
Provide operational HR support when required and act as back-up for key HR activities within the HR team.
