About Our Client
Our client is a globally recognised insurance and reinsurance company, known for bringing together expertise and innovation to manage complex risks. For their European entity based in Brussels, they are currently looking for a Risk Associate.
Job Description
- Support the development, implementation and continuous improvement of the risk management framework (second line of defence)
- Monitor and assess operational (non-financial) risks in line with the company's risk appetite
- Actively contribute to RCSA processes and risk reporting
- Partner with business stakeholders to identify, assess and manage risks, providing constructive challenge
- Ensure policies and risk frameworks are properly implemented across EEA branches
- Take ownership of risk domains, including monitoring and oversight
- Support the preparation of risk reports for senior management and the CRO
- Contribute to the annual risk plan
- Promote a strong risk culture across the organisation
- Collaborate with Risk, Compliance, Audit and Business teams
- Provide ad hoc support to the CRO and Operational Risk Manager
The Successful Applicant
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Economics or Business
- 3-5 years of experience in Operational Risk, Non-Financial Risk, Audit or similar within Financial Services/Insurance
- Fluent in English; additional European languages are a plus
- Experience in a second line of defence function is a strong asset
- Good understanding of ERM frameworks, risk appetite and internal controls
- Hands‑on experience with RCSA, incident management and risk reporting
- Exposure to Belgian or EU regulatory environments
- Knowledge of operational resilience, third‑party risk (DORA) or information security is a plus
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to structure and present complex information
- Autonomous, well‑organised and able to manage multiple priorities
- Strong communication skills and ability to challenge stakeholders constructively
- Team player with a proactive, ownership‑driven mindset
