Omschrijving functie
As a Helmsman at Wijgaart Shipping, you will play a hands-on role where teamwork is essential. You assist the Captain and are responsible for a variety of duties on board. You work independently during loading, unloading, and mooring operations.You have a good technical understanding and enjoy maintaining the vessel. You are self-reliant, able to identify bottlenecks and safety risks, and committed to delivering high-quality work.
- Motivate, support, and guide colleagues on board
- Demonstrate a strong sense of responsibility
- Identify operational issues and discuss them with supervisors
- Maintain a flexible and proactive attitude
- Moor and unmoor the vessel and assist with loading and unloading operations
- Ensure the proper operation and inspection of engines and assist in vessel maintenance
- Maintain the vessel, equipment, and accommodation areas to a high standard

Position: Full-time, rotational schedule (2 weeks on / 2 weeks off)

- Experience on tanker, dry cargo or container vessels
- Driving licence is a advantage
- Dutch or Swiss contract
- 2-weeks-on/2-weeks-off schedule
- Sailing in the ARA region and on the Rhine
