We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Account Manager to join our Crop Science team. In this role, you will work primarily in a glasshouse environment, focusing on key crops such as tomatoes, rootstock, peppers, and cucumbers. The main purpose of this role entails exceeding customer expectations by meeting business goals and working to achieve long term growth of vegetable seeds products in North Europe squads.

Develop sales within Belgium with interaction with all stakeholders across the value chain like auctions, cooperatives and large produce / shippers.

Develop a strategic plan to capture opportunities with these key stakeholders, influencing growers and coordinate the activities of a multifunctional team to implement the strategic plan for Belgium.

The role involves leading business initiatives, recruiting and managing customer relationships and key partnerships with direct accounts as well as collaborate with other functions to maximize the value of our business and ensure realization of our commercial strategy in line with relevant KPI’s.

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Generate sales by developing and delivering key account plan by customer. Follow-up sales results, orders, and shipments on a daily basis. Support multifunctional teams in the implementation of the key account and launch plans for the region. Develop business plans and customer satisfaction goals and operate at a senior level in customer organization. Maintain a watching brief on developments within customer's organizations which may affect future Bayer business in country.

Establish a tactical plan based on the Commercial Plan in close collaboration with all departments.

Understanding the key account business and market dynamic. Ensure a consistent customer experience from all Bayer departments (MD, credit, customer service, etc) leading to loyalty.

Ensure all data are properly collected to drive variety advancement/drop recommendations and/or FAB's on NVI's and market extension. Develop data based that would enable us to be the first choice in the eyes of the customer through SFDC platform.

Credit management of the customer (assure in-time payments, collect default interests). Handles quality complaints/claims. Provide 0-24 months horizon forecast to secure proper seed production and allotment. Anticipate trends, analyse customer needs, competitors’ strategy and market opportunities. Comply with laws, regulations and good business practices.

Provide and share data-driven competitive and market intelligence. (competition actions, market trends, product performance/satisfaction levels, commercial acceptance and regulatory issues) .

Co-creating customer solutions with the farmers and stakeholders.

In terms of background and experience, you have:

Degree in Business or Agriculture or related qualifications, an MBA is of added value

8+ years of experience, with a track record in creating and managing B2B partnerships and in sales, marketing or business development

Operational experience in customer-facing positions

Fluent in Dutch and English, both written and spoken, with strong planning, accuracy and analytical skills and a strong focus on detail
