An innovative aerospace and satellite technology company is seeking a RAN Software Architect to help shape the future of 5G connectivity from space. This is an opportunity to influence the architecture of next-generation satellite communication systems, focusing on 5G Non-Terrestrial Networks (NTN) and the evolution of industry standards.
Working at the intersection of wireless communications, software engineering and satellite technology, you will define scalable architectures, contribute to 3GPP standardisation efforts and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver reliable, high-performance communication systems.
What you'll do as a RAN Software Architect:
- Define and maintain the software architecture for 5G NTN
- Analyse and contribute to the evolution of 3GPP standards, with a particular focus on Non-Terrestrial Networks.
- Ensure architectural compliance with 3GPP specifications while accounting for constraints of satellite communications.
- Translate complex technical and system requirements into scalable, robust software architectures.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and identify opportunities for architectural improvements.
- Drive architectural decisions that support the scalability, reliability and performance of next-generation satellite-based communication systems.
What you'll bring as a RAN Software Architect:
- Proven experience in software architecture for wireless communication systems.
- Strong software engineering skills and experience working with distributed systems.
- Ability to translate complex requirements into scalable and maintainable architectural designs.
- Experience with 5G Non-Terrestrial Network concepts and satellite communications.
- Understanding of 3GPP 5G New Radio (NR) specifications, particularly Radio Access Network (RAN) architecture.
