Ella monitors energy for European SMEs. Quarter-hourly meter data, market prices, capacity tariffs, anomaly detection, forecasting. We're 4 people, and we're shipping fast.
We're looking for someone with energy market experience who can also write Python and SQL. The job is turning domain knowledge into working software: models in production, insights that go directly to customers, research we publish openly.
What you'll work on
- Energy models: forecasting, anomaly detection, peak optimization, scenario simulation
- Data pipelines on a modern stack (Dagster, dbt, TimescaleDB, Polars, Modal)
- Product decisions: what's worth building and why
- Articles and research on energy data
- Full-stack development in our product (NextJS, FastAPI)
What we're looking for
- Energy market background: supplier, consultancy, grid operator, or trading desk
- Hands-on Python and SQL
- Data warehousing or data/software engineering experience is a plus
