Are you an experienced Network & Security Specialist looking for a role that combines hands‑on technical expertise, project ownership and international collaboration?

We are looking for a Group ICT Network & Security Project Specialist to join an international ICT infrastructure team in Groot-Bijgaarden.

In this role, you’ll be responsible for the end-to-end management and implementation of network and security projects, while also providing advanced support for a global IT environment serving approximately 9,000 users across 100+ sites worldwide.

You’ll work closely with network and security architects, regional and local IT teams, infrastructure specialists and external technology partners to ensure secure, reliable and high-performing connectivity.

Role

  • Lead Network & Security Projects: Manage projects from the initial planning and budget phase through design, implementation, documentation and follow-up.
  • Firewalling & Load Balancing: Troubleshoot, maintain and implement firewall and load‑balancing solutions and features.
  • LAN & WLAN: Install, configure and troubleshoot Cisco switching and wireless infrastructure across datacentres, offices, factories and remote sites.
  • SD-WAN: Collaborate with global WAN providers to ensure reliable and performant connectivity across more than 100 locations.
  • L2/L3 Support: Provide advanced operational support for complex networking and security issues, working directly or alongside local IT teams.
  • Monitoring: Maintain and monitor network and security monitoring systems, proactively identifying and resolving potential issues.
  • Technical Documentation: Interpret and maintain existing documentation and create technical/design documentation for new installations and projects.
  • Infrastructure Installation: Support physical installations, including racking and stacking, initial equipment configuration, cabling and troubleshooting.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Coordinate with infrastructure, security, HQ IT and local IT teams to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Prioritisation: Balance project responsibilities with operational support and maintenance, ensuring business‑critical activities receive the appropriate priority.

You’ll also participate in a 24/7 standby rotation for critical incidents, approximately once every 8 weeks.
