MISSION

This position is part of CCB Cement plant Production Department reporting to the Process manager based in Gaurain, Belgium. He/She is responsible for leading the plant alternative fuels initiatives to ensure annual plant targets are met and to support the plant’s long-term sustainability goals. It serves as a technical resource for the plant team through its expertise.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead the safe and efficient handling, storage, and usage of alternative fuels at the plant while ensuring environmental compliance.

Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors and manage internal processes including non-compliances to ensure consistent fuel supply and quality.

Monitor and optimize fuel performance, equipment reliability, cost-effectiveness, and operators’ performances.

Participate in audits and studies including ETS related tasks.

Support the development and implementation of new alternative fuel initiatives.

Provide vision and strategies to maximize alternative fuels and raw materials supporting plant KPIs and roadmap targets including HSE, CO2, reliability and production targets.

Maintain accurate records and reporting for regulatory and internal performance tracking.

Manage permitting constraints, market development, and contracting in coordination with Procurement teams and environmental teams.

GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, Economics, Business, or related field; 5+ years in alternative fuels or recycling management.

  • Strong understanding of industrial operations, preferably in manufacturing. A preference will be given to candidates with a background in the cement industry, and with process engineering background.
  • Mechanical and electrical/automation aptitude needed to troubleshoot equipment breakdown.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams and manage cross-functional collaboration.
  • Knowledge of environmental regulations and sustainability practices.
  • Familiarity with sourcing, usage, and techno-economic evaluations.
  • Analytical mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills in dynamic work environments.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with vendors, contractors, supply chain actors, and regulatory agencies.

  • MS Office, SAP, AI tools, Fluent French and professional English (written and verbal)
