Asenium is looking for a Senior Data Manager to drive data quality, integrity, protection, and governance in a banking environment. You will embed Data-by-Design principles across business processes and projects, working closely with IT, Legal, Risk, and Business stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Own end-to-end data quality, integrity, and protection, including validation of data used in regulatory reporting.
- Identify data risks, define controls and quality indicators, monitor remediation, and elevate critical issues.
- Maintain business terms, data dictionaries, critical report documentation, and data lineage in governance tools.
- Promote Data-by-Design through coaching, awareness sessions, and sustainable alternatives to non-compliant practices.
- Assess project compliance with data protection, transfer, retention, inventory, and EUC requirements; contribute to release Go/No-Go decisions.
- Align APIs, data models, terminology, and reference data with enterprise standards alongside architects and IT.
- Coordinate governance activities across Agile squads, governance forums, and cross-functional teams.
- Complete recurring GDPR follow-ups and report governance progress and risks to leadership and relevant control functions.
Must-have requirements:
- 7+ years of overall experience, including a track record in banking or financial services.
- 5+ years in data management, data governance, or risk reporting.
- Strong knowledge of GDPR, BCBS 239, KYD, and Risk/Finance reporting processes.
- Expertise in data lineage, data dictionaries, quality metrics, and data risk controls.
- Knowledge of API governance, ISO 20022, and Swagger.
- Experience with Wikidata, EDM, and Agile/AWOW frameworks.
- Strong stakeholder management, coaching, analytical, and proactive problem-solving skills.
- Fluency in English, plus Dutch and/or French.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, IT, Risk Management, or a related field.
