Senior Application Tester and Business Analyst

What you will do

You will join a multidisciplinary team responsible for applications supporting the management of urban and environmental permits. Your main focus will be the functional validation of application evolutions, integrations and redesigns.

As a functional tester, you will work closely with project managers, analysts, developers and business experts. You will collaborate with key users and business representatives to understand their working context, the processes related to permit management, and the needs covered by the applications.

Your responsibilities include:

• Quickly understanding the business domain and processes related to urban and environmental permit management to ensure appropriate test coverage
• Analysing functional specifications, change requests and user needs
• Designing, documenting and maintaining test scenarios and test cases
• Preparing the data needed for test campaigns
• Verifying that functional requirements and specifications have been correctly implemented
• Executing functional, regression and integration tests
• Identifying, documenting and tracking anomalies through to resolution in Jira
• Collaborating with analysts, business teams and development teams to ensure a shared understanding of issues
• Participating in testing activities and validating deliveries
• Testing web services using dedicated tools (SoapUI, Postman, etc.)
• Contributing to the continuous improvement of quality and testing processes
• Progressively participating in the setup and maintenance of automated tests (Playwright) as functional stability and application maturity allow
• Ensuring test traceability and the overall quality of delivered applications

The role is primarily focused on manual testing and functional validation, with test automation being developed gradually as projects and applications mature.

What we are looking for

You have senior-level experience as an application tester in IT projects and bring the following skills:

• Knowledge of testing methodologies and standards such as ISTQB or TMap (confirmed level)
• Knowledge of Atlassian collaborative tools (Jira, Xray, Confluence, etc.) (confirmed level)
• Experience in test automation (confirmed level)
• Experience with API testing (SOAP, REST, etc.) (junior level)
• Experience with the Playwright tool (junior level)
• Experience or knowledge in the domain of permit management (junior level)

The setting

This assignment runs from 1 December 2026 to 30 November 2027.

The role is hybrid, based in Namur, and requires on-site presence at least 60% of the time, potentially more when needed.
