The opportunity

At TCR, we know that to deliver smarter ground support solutions, we need the right people with the right expertise. That's why we're looking for a Data architect who can help us transform data into value. You'll play a critical role in our ambition to become a truly data-driven organisation.

This is a group-level role based in our headquarters, with hybrid flexibility. We are also open to candidates based in Spain or Malaysia, working in a hybrid or remote setup depending on location.

You'll work closely with a skilled, motivated team to lead the technical design of data architecture across the company, supporting internal decision-making and customer-facing projects alike.

Snapshot Of What You Will Be Doing Here

  • Architectural leadership and oversight
    • Take a leading role in shaping data architecture across programmes, helping teams align on sound design choices and long-term consistency.
    • Establish data architectural principles, guardrails, and governance to ensure consistency across systems and domains.
  • Data modelling and design
    • Lead data modelling efforts across operational and analytical domains (OLTP/OLAP), developing conceptual, logical, and physical data models that ensure data integrity and accessibility.
    • Define and enforce data modelling standards that enable seamless integration, analytics, and scalability.
  • Data Platform and Integration Architecture
    • Design and maintain modern Azure-based data platforms, including Data Lake, Data Factory, and Synapse Analytics.
    • Define and implement data pipelines enabling both stream and batch data processing. Experience with streaming data technologies (Kafka, Flink, etc.) is a strong asset.
    • Collaborate with integration teams to define ingestion, transformation, and consumption patterns.
  • Data Strategy and Governance
    • Partner with business, IT, and governance teams to develop and evolve the enterprise data strategy.
    • Participate in defining policies and frameworks for master data management, metadata, and data quality.
    • Ensure architecture solutions comply with security, compliance, and GDPR standards.
  • Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement
    • Work closely with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical blueprints.
    • Act as a subject matter expert to cross-functional teams on data architecture decisions and trade-offs.
    • Provide strategic input into platform roadmaps and modernization initiatives.
  • Innovation and Continuous Improvement
    • Evaluate emerging tools and Azure capabilities to drive continuous improvement across data ecosystems.
    • Promote automation, reusability, and efficiency in data ingestion, storage, and analytics.
    • Share best practices in data architecture and mentor team members to build internal capability.

What Success Looks Like

  • You've established reliable, secure, and scalable data pipelines that are used across departments
  • You've led architectural decisions that support both current operations and future scalability
  • The team trusts your guidance and sees you as a go-to expert for data-related challenges
  • You've helped raise the data maturity of the business by embedding governance and driving adoption
  • Business users have access to high-quality, well-structured data to make smarter decisions

We Are Looking For Someone Who

  • Holds a degree (or equivalent experience) in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • Has 5 years (or more) of experience in data roles such as data modelling, data engineering, analytics engineering, or technical lead roles
  • Demonstrates strong hands‑on experience in data modelling and data pipeline design
  • Has practical experience with Azure data services such as Data Factory, Databricks, Synapse, and related tools
  • Understands data governance, security, GDPR, and compliance principles, even if not owning them end to end
  • Has experience working on complex data projects within a structured data environment
  • Enjoys working across teams and values shared outcomes over individual ownership
  • Has strong communication skills in English
  • Curious about the bigger picture and eager to grow from strong practitioner into broader architectural thinking
  • Comfortable learning through collaboration, feedback, and exposure to complex
