Sickness & Absence Operations Specialist

Our client is seeking a professional to manage long-term sickness and absence operations for their Belgian activities. The role involves overseeing the end-to-end administrative and payroll coordination of absence cases while supporting the transition toward a data-driven operating model.

• Manage the end-to-end administrative follow-up of long-term sickness files exceeding 30 days.
• Monitor key legal milestones and process deadlines to ensure full compliance and audit readiness.
• Maintain accurate sickness and absence records within HR and payroll systems to ensure data quality.
• Coordinate with payroll departments and external insurance partners regarding work accident declarations and disability allowances.
• Identify opportunities for process automation and digitalization to improve operational efficiency.
• Develop interactive dashboards and reports to provide insights on absence trends and financial impacts.
• Support the continuous improvement of HR processes through digitalization and automation initiatives.

• You have a Bachelor's degree.
• You possess 3+ years of experience in HR operations or payroll administration with a focus on absence management.
• You bring strong knowledge of Belgian payroll treatment and legislation regarding sickness and work accidents.
• You have hands-on experience with HR systems such as SuccessFactors, Protime, eBlox, or Neocase.
• You possess proficiency in data visualization and reporting using Excel and Power BI.
• You're structured, solution-oriented, and able to handle sensitive data with discretion.
• You are fluent in French, Dutch, and English.

• Certification in payroll or HR administration.
• Affinity with RPA or process mining.
